Joe & Georgia's guests made their way from the sun-kissed shores, a short journey from Rethymno, through traditional Cretan Villages and into the hills, to a sensational setting; their chosen venue to exchange their wedding vows with loved ones; Agreco Farm.
Where love, luxury and luscious tropical plants collided in the most breath-taking of settings, Destination wedding planner, Junie Poonie, treated Joe & Georgia's guests to a sensory feast.
With aerial drapes cascading elegantly, deep, dark leafy tropical plants adorning the venue & it's stunning renowned Chapel doors in place of traditional florals, with the exception of some simple white roses, set as single stems on a bed of moss within the tablescape, single stems for the Bridesmaids and a cluster for the bridal bouquet, Agreco Farm was transformed into a striking, minimalist, yet beyond stylish setting, with dining tables draped in linens gently swaying in the Mediterranean breeze, this Editorial Luxe Destination Wedding in Crete by Junie Poonie was a vision of style, sophistication and oozed 'Joe & Georgia' from every angle.
As the golden sun bathed the venue in a warm glow, guests were immersed in an experiential journey unlike any other. Every detail was meticulously curated to create an extraordinary and stylish celebration of love. From stepping off their private transfers, to meandering through the Farms Village square to the sound of a traditional Cretan Band, playing acoustically in the distance, as they followed the tunes to the farm, they were met by Joe (and some deer, goats and an array of farm animals, not best men or groomsmen - they were a sight of pure sophistication in their black tuxedos!) with a celebratory welcome drink in hands, guests were welcomed to take in the views, the hills, the vineyards, the farm and the sea in the distance.
As Georgia and her beautiful Bridal Party arrived, guested were serenaded around to the 'immersive, intimate aisle', one that had never been seen at Agreco Farm before,
a way of Junie Poonie ensuring that all guests felt a part of the ceremony and experienced every moment. Joe & Georgia met in the middle (of what may have been described to Georgia as a 'Catwalk Aisle, yet to Joe, an 'Intimate Aisle') they were truly immersed by their guests presence, and one that Celebrant Polly relished in as she weaved her way through the guests, ensuring that everyone, at some point throughout the heartfelt, yet hilarious Ceremony had eye contact with the couple and a full visual of 'THAT' dress!.
The ambiance at Agreco Farm was nothing short of captivating, with its enchanting blend of rustic charm intertwined with an Editorial-Luxe aesthetic that Junie and her team bought to the venue. The lush botanical plants adorning the aisle and flooding the Chapel Doors served as a picturesque backdrop for their vows, setting the stage for a celebration that would linger in the hearts of all who attended.
Every element of the day whispered Style & Sophistication. The juxtaposition of modern mono typography signage & stationery adorned with sentimental words from their readings, love quotes and lyrics from various songs played throughout Joe & Georgia's day were dotted throughout the venue, with a duo of linen welcome sign and table plans swaying gently from an ancient tree in the Village Square, moving gently with the breeze and reminiscent of washing hanging in an old Greek Village against the rustic charm of Agreco Farm created a visual that left guests spellbound. Not to mention the aerial installations of soft linens, draping majestically from the trees, and framing the sea views from the dining space, It was a feast for the eyes and the soul.
As the ceremony came to an end, the sound of a saxophonist could be heard, with chilled tunes being played, guests found themselves gathered on the lower terrace, sipping drinks, sampling the finest of Greek cuisine and taking shade under swaying linens and statement macramé trimmed parasols before being called to wine and dine the night away with what can only be described as the most sensational feast of Greek Food there ever was, never was a glass less than half full as the food and wine were constantly flowing, a service that was exceptional in every way, lead by 'The Captain' who ensured everyone there felt like they were the only ones on the island, let alone the venue!
With the sunset over the vineyards and the stars beginning to twinkle in the evening sky, they were far from the only stars of the night, as Georgia, a professional singer, took to the stage in a secret, hush hush performance that not only surprised her husband and guests,
but truly got the party started! Ensuring the dancefloor was full before the sensational DJ; Aris took to the decks to entertain all, with tune after tune blasting across the Village Square for all to enjoy and party the night away.
It wasn't long before cocktails were being served, along with late night snacks of gyros to keep those dancing feet and happy souls fuelled.
As the night drew to a close, guests were whisked away in private coaches, whilst Joe and Georgia stole a secret moment to sit down, kick off their shoes, undo his bowtie, gather their thoughts and look back on what can only be described as something out of a real life Pinterest board or Vogue Magazine Wedding feature.
